Gentle Yoga for the Menopause

Gentle yoga class for menopause, including asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques.

This yoga practice is specifically designed to support and nourish individuals on their menopause journey, including those experiencing peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause.

The class is held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

By practicing gentle yoga, you can balance hormonal changes, relieve hot flashes, support pelvic health, strengthen bones, and reduce bone loss. It can also help relieve anxiety, fatigue, and brain fog, as well as help you settle into rest in an enjoyable and creative way.

The sequence of asanas (poses) is designed to respond to monthly and seasonal cycles, enhancing cyclical awareness as part of the toolkit for the menopause journey.

Breathing for body and mind starter wells

You are invited to create a wellness toolkit by learning the art of breathing well, as improving your breath can support your health in both body and mind. From breath awareness to conscious breathing, your breath can be used in many ways, including for calm, revitalisation, balance, warming up, or cooling down.

Throughout this Starter course, you will learn simple breathing exercises combined with gentle yoga and somatic movement. Mindful breathing and humming for health are also included. Poor posture often limits our ability to breathe well, so you will also learn basic somatic movement to improve posture and release tension in both body and mind. Breath awareness in Yoga Nidra may help to relax the body and improve anxious breathing.

I offer online classes where you can practice yoga with me in the comfort of your own home. This is a wonderful solution  for people who cannot travel to my ‘In Person’ classes for practical reasons or due to health issues.

How to practice with me online

I use Zoom to livestream my classes. Zoom is a safe and secure online space that is easy to download and use. It provides clear communication between myself and you, the client – creating an environment which is ideal for practising and learning Gentle Yoga.

If you would like any help downloading Zoom, please let me know and I will be happy to provide you with guidance. I have also provided a step by step guide below on how to connect with online Gentle Yoga classes.

Set it up in advance and test the audio and video are working

Plugging in an ethernet cable will help stabilise the internet connection but standard Wi-Fi connections are almost always adequate

Please log in 10-15 minutes before the class so that we are ready to begin on time

For your class you will need:

1. A yoga mat, or rug to practice on.

2. A yoga block if you have one. Don’t worry if you don’t – a cushion or rolled up blanket is just as good.

3.Blanket and cushions to support the body and for the relaxation phase.

4. For ease of movement please wear loose and comfortable clothing or leggings.

5. Please have water and tissues to hand.
